History

Since 1952 the ministry of New Freedom Baptist Church has been committed to a firm stand upon God’s Word and to faithfully spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20). Much of this can be attributed to the 49 years of unwavering godly leadership of Dr. Mark L. Hopkins who has been the embodiment of the Apostle Paul’s admonition: “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful (1 Corinthians 4:2)” His fidelity to preaching “thus saith the Lord” has yielded “fruit that remains” as evidenced in the countless lives that have been changed for eternity; many of which who have gone on to serve the Lord at N.F.B.C., or in full-time Christian service around the country and even around the world.

Pastor Mark Hopkins faithfully served as Pastor of New Freedom Baptist Church from 1968 to 2017.  His son, Pastor Michael Hopkins, faithfully served as Pastor of New Freedom Baptist Church from 2017 to 2025.  We so appreciate and thank Pastor Michael and his entire family for their faithful service during their time at NFBC and continue to prayerfully ask for God’s blessing and guidance in their service for Him.
